Friday was a very productive day at da range. A crew of 11 volunteers attacked the cutting, welding, the organizing and lifting of the huge pipes which needed to be set onto the uprights. The old saying many hands make light work is indeed true -- thanks everyone for the help!!
Our welders are continuing in the morning.... we are slowly making headway.
THANK YOU GUYS!!
Our bonus today was the 'okay' from Nick Rhodes that we could take three used metal picnic tables.
Our goal, using our talented welder, Ed Prather, to cut, slice and rejuvenate some sadly used tables.
Little did the guys know they'd have friendly visitors when loading up the tables!
The Welders will be working on the saddles for the cross supports, just another morning and they should be done. (Hopefully), then the pipe prepping, the painting, and then the lacing of the fabric.
We appreciate everyone's patience as we plod along with this project. We realize that with the near perfect shooting weather, you would rather be shooting that waiting on us. The wait will be worthwhile when the temperature start rising and we have shade on ALL the shooting benches.
Our plan, once the project is complete to have a huge pot luck meal at the range. Keep watching for updates!
Once again, all of this was made possible by Nick, Jon and Mike Rhodes with Rhodes Enterprise. We thank you again!
