Building Day Today

Busy Day!

A very busy day at the range and river!

We stopped by to give Brandon, the D6 dozer operator, lunch. He does very nice work.

Good headway is being made on the berm build. Fortunately there is plenty of dirt, making the build a lot quicker.

Border Patrol has been hard at work clearing the brush along "Fisher Lane" (we nicknamed the new caliche road that Fisher Industry built) towards the river, Now there is clear view of all road traffic.

Burning of the suger cane fields!

Here is how the steel area is looking, time to get the steel target set up!

The shotgun area also has all the thorny underbrush cleared away.

As you can see the clearing made a mess, particularly where the clumps of trees were cleared there is a lot of debris which needs clean up. We need your help with the clean up. There are a lot of light weight branches -- easy work.. If you have a spare hour, you can go down on your own, use the wagon, and pick up a pile or two. There is a burn pile near Mabel, and we can make another east of the shotgun area. Thanks for the help!

We are expecting the range to open shortly. We all need some trigger time.

Thank you,
Niles Deden

Three Things Going on Now

Three things are going on right now!!

Three things going on right now:

1) Fisher hope's to have all the bollards in place Saturday. The 3.5 miles of wall has 14,000 bollards.
How would you like the job of filling each with pea rock?

2) Our meeting last week with BP was very productive. The Border Patrol brush crew worked the past two days cutting every tree between the range and the east dirt road. They mowed the until area. They are removing stumps now.

3) The Fisher D6 started pushing dirt for the berm this afternoon. They expect to spend a couple of days building the berm.

You have been very patient while the range has been closed. Thank you. I hope that we can get the range open again next week. We all need some trigger time.

Thank you,
Niles Deden

Important Notice

The Range Remains CLOSED
Sadly the range remains closed. The trenching and lighting is complete. The concrete crew is working 18-hour days. Hang in there.

If you need to get some trigger time, head to Shooters Alley in the morning, stay for lunch. They have the best burgers and enchiladas!
IMPORTANT NOTICE
To everyone, do NOT drive down the dirt road from the BP camera tower to the river. This is the road that is on the east side of the gun range. This is the road between the gun range and the sugar cane field. This is the dirt road that the Border Patrol uses.

This is a private road owned by Mike Rhodes and used by Fisher Industries. It is not a public street. Both Mike Rhodes and Tommy Fisher have prohibited traffic on the road.  This road will have a gate soon. There are no traspassing signs posted. The dirt road is patrolled by the Fisher security.

Part of the problem is that 4 wheelers from wherever are trespassing onto the sugar cane property by using this road.

WARNING: DO NOT DRIVE ON THE PRIVATE DIRT ROAD GOING TO THE RIVER. BAD THINGS WILL HAPPEN TO YOU.

The Fisher security crew are nice guys, but they are not to be messed with. They received their training from the military in the Middle East. Don't butt heads with them.
You will lose. Stay off the road.

CLOSED but there is more

The Range is Still CLOSED
The Range continues to remain closed for shooting. Fisher Industries has been making great progress clearing the river frontage near us.
The workmen are working down range of the range throughout the day. To keep everyone safe the range needs to remain closed. Safety first.

Today Fisher Industries began pouring concrete ... here's a short video.
Beyond Conceal Carry Class
Excellent Class! Alex did an awesome job!
Our shooters really enjoyed their time with Alex ... nicknamed G3. He covered a lot of information about carrying a concealed firearm. Sharing the types of holsters, how to wear them, drawing from the holster. Discussion including situational awareness and active shooter, the class was 2 hours ... its hard to share ALL the information G3 gave us!

Thanks Alex ... nice job!
Thanks Recon!
Some good things are happening while the range is closed.

Two new 22LR rifle shooting benches were installed under the sunshades. Huge thanks to Recon!

AND, you will also notice new foam backers installed -- Nice!
