Yes, the range remains open. There are a limited number of shooters that still remain, we hope you will continue enjoy the range, its been pretty quiet down there!!
You will notice that we have new backstops on many of the targets. These backstop should last the summer. It will be appreciated if everyone will police their brass, and not dump the buckets into the garbage cans. Also, cardboard should be taken home with you.
We have noticed the Sheriffs are stopping traffic on the levee, this means the best access is probably using the road near the BP Tower. I heard of golf carts being stopped near the State Park parking lot recently, so things are getting tighter.
You will also notice that we have suspended the Range Calendar. There are no further activities planned for the summer. The calendar will be reactivated in October. If however, you and your neighbors want to plan a shoot, by all means, just remember the county Covid-19 rules apply. Groups at the range many not exceed 10, and social distancing applies..
Border Patrol and LEO (law enforcement officers) have been registering for range use. They have also signed our waivers and will have a range badge. Pat Stewart is spearheading their registration. There is a fee for them to shoot, with renewal in November.
A quick note of thanks to Dennis Stosky ... check our the drone photo that is our new masthead! Thanks Dennie.
Recon made two awesome signs for Fisher Road, its pretty obviously what drivers needs to do. So you will hear lots of noise coming along the road. Thanks Recon, you do a lot to make our range safe!
We wish everyone a safe summer. We look forward to the current events settling down so that we can begin a great new season. Happy summer and shoot safe wherever you are!
